Include but are not limited to:
- Develop and sustain a comprehensive understanding of CPAWSB business processes.
- Oversee and participate in and/or lead requirement workshops to gather, analyze, document, and validate the business needs/requirements of project stakeholders (internal and external).
- Design and implement new/improved operational capabilities in the business areas, including processes and solutions.
- Develop business cases in conjunction with business units, that cost-justify technology investment.
- Collaborate and support subject matter experts (SMEs) to maintain documented business process and information flows, including how system(s) supports the business processes.
- Recommend business actions to business leaders based on interpreted findings of the analyzed business processes.
- Identify the business objectives, strategies and needs to produce innovative and detailed business models supported by business cases for an IT business initiative to be implemented while considering the implications of this change on the organization and all stakeholders.
- Analyze the current state of innovation, product development and operating model, including organizational structures, business processes, systems, information, and data to propose technology solutions to improve the effectiveness of the business areas and the services that the company provides to clients.
- Interact with business clients, analyze business requirements, and recommend solutions that will have a measurable impact on the profitability or effectiveness of the organization.
- Lead the collection and documentation of detailed business requirements from a broad community of stakeholders.
- Ongoing interaction with the business team to acquire an understanding and clarification of business processes and requirements.
- Support and provide end-user training.
- Collaborate and support SMEs to develop User Acceptance (UA) test plans and procedures.
- Identify business process improvement opportunities for efficient and effective business operation.
- Work closely with QA to perform testing and document results.
- Contribute to business road maps and operation plans as they relate to technology.
- Define, manage and maintain architecture models, frameworks and artefacts (e.g. current and future state application architecture diagrams, data models, etc.).
- Ensure requirements for each release are implemented to CPAWSB.
- Develop and/or review and approve all solution documents in the release.
- Identify and mitigate existing business risks or risks associated with solution or hardware architecture and oversee various test phases including UAT and managing the deployment of the release to production.
- Document operating procedures and technical findings related to support in order to add to the library of standard operating procedures for the IS Department.
- Provide first-level support for the organization’s SLMS (Student Learning Management System), which is comprised of portals (students, employers, contractors, and events), Microsoft Dynamics CRM, Dynamics GP, Microsoft SharePoint, and other related applications.
- Develop, update, and maintain checklists, SOPs (Standard Operating procedures), templates, processes, procedures, standards, and other documentation required to have a functional and operational production environment.
- Ensure change management procedures are followed at all times.
- Document business rules and data models.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Ensure compliance with School privacy policies and all applicable privacy legislation when carrying out all job duties and functions and obligation to report known or suspected breaches of privacy.
Include but are not limited to:
- Minimum 4 to 6 years of experience as a Technical Business Analyst, documenting business processes and rules, data models, business cases and business case summaries.
- Experience with business process re-engineering and business process modeling.
- Experience facilitating workshops.
- Experience developing user test plans and procedures, as well as collaborating with subject matter experts to perform user testing.
- Experience identifying, capturing and translating business needs into business requirements and producing detailed design documents.
- Experience developing use cases and performing system testing.
- Experience leading user acceptance testing, developing test scripts and overseeing the execution of the test effort.
- Experience providing guidance to end users in the use of applications and the understanding of information.
- Post-secondary degree or technical diploma in a relevant discipline.
- Member of the International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA) [preferred].
- Ability to read, write and speak English fluently.
