  • Education: Completion of a graduate or bachelor’s degree in a related field is required.
  • Experience: Experience as a research assistant and experience assisting in qualitative research with minimal supervision and a track record of increasing independence in decision-making. Experience working with students is considered an asset.
  • Research-related Knowledge: Knowledge and familiarity with academic research ethics board standards, qualitative data analysis, and quantitative (e.g., survey development, evidence synthesis) research. Familiarity with grounded theory methodologies as well as with academic ethics and plagiarism protocols.  Knowledge on design thinking or learning engineering processes.
  • Computer Skills: Strong technical aptitude with Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, and Adobe.
  • Background in education, science, social sciences, or related field 
  • Familiarity with education theories and research 
  • Knowledge of Indigenous perspectives, methodologies, or First Nations Principles of OCAP 
  • Knowledge of evaluation research processes
  • Confidentiality: Maintains confidentiality using discretion and professional judgment.  
  • Interpersonal Skills: Acts in a pragmatic and professional manner.  
  • Independence: Independent and self-motivated while possessing the desire to work in a collaborative work environment.

  • Prioritization and Scheduling: Adheres to study protocol to deliver consistent quality intervention.  
  • Adaptability: Works well independently and in a team environment and adapts to changing workloads and priorities. 
  • Pressure Management: Conducts research within tight timelines and schedules. 
  • Language Proficiency: Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently
