Capstone 1 Volunteer Panelist
As part of Capstone 1, candidates analyze and present on a case study. Volunteer panelists are members of the profession who watch and provide feedback on candidate presentations. Depending on candidate registrations, presentations may be in Victoria, Vancouver, Burnaby, Surrey, Kelowna, Kamloops, Edmonton, Calgary, Regina, Saskatoon, or Winnipeg. Read more.
Requirements
Panelists must have a CPA designation. Each panelist receives an executive summary and the suggested case solution. Groups of candidates present their responses, and panelists provide feedback on those responses.
In larger centres, there are up to four days of presentations, with each day running from approximately 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time. Panel volunteers are asked to attend full days and can choose to attend one or more presentation days.
Compensation
No monetary compensation is offered to volunteer panelists. However, these volunteer hours may count against professional development hours with provincial CPA professional bodies; please confirm with yours. Breakfast and lunch are provided on the presentation days.
