CPA preparatory courses are designed for those who lack some or all of the prerequisite knowledge required for admission to the CPA Professional Education Program (CPA PEP).
CPA preparatory courses are delivered part-time in a flexible and self-study delivery format. Students complete only those courses they need to fill in their knowledge gaps.
The only academic prerequisite to enroll in CPA preparatory courses is one of the following:
- One year (30 credits) of post-secondary study in any discipline from a diploma or degree program at a recognized post-secondary institution, or
- Three years of relevant work experience, which includes exposure to accounting and/or finance functions.
Enrollment
Students who have completed at least one year (30 credits) of post-secondary study in any discipline or who have three years of relevant work experience, which includes exposure to accounting and/or finance functions, can enroll in CPA preparatory courses. Study must be from a diploma or degree program at a recognized post-secondary institution.
- Create a profile in My CPA Portal and request a Transcript Assessment.
- Have your post-secondary institution send official copies of your transcripts to CPAWSB. We will notify you when the assessment is complete and the results are available in My CPA Portal. The assessment will indicate which CPA preparatory courses you need to complete.
- Check the schedule and enroll in a course during the enrollment period.
