To be eligible to write a CPA PEP module exam, you must successfully complete all required module activities and workshops.
According to the CPA Canada PEP Candidate Guide:
"To be eligible to attempt the module exam, candidates must achieve the required grade on module activities and workshops (or complete a workshop make-up assignment, if required).
A candidate who does not meet this requirement may not be eligible to write the end-of-module exam. Only candidates who are not eligible to write the final exam will be notified by their region/province. Candidates who have not been contacted should assume they are qualified to write unless they hear otherwise."
Approximately one week before the exam, you can verify your status in My CPA Portal:
If your status shows Qualified to Write (QTR), you are eligible to write the exam.
CPA PEP module exams are written on CPA-issued laptops provided at the exam centre. These laptops are preloaded with Surpass (SecureClient) lockdown software.
To familiarize yourself with the exam writing environment, review the Surpass (SecureClient) resources available on the CPA Canada website.
If you are unable to write a module exam, you may defer it through My CPA Portal.
Note: The Common Final Examination (CFE) cannot be deferred. If you decide not to write the CFE, you must withdraw and register again during a future CFE registration period.
Exam deferrals are available one week before the exam date and up to three days after the exam date.
To defer your exam:
If you defer a module exam, you must write it at the next available offering.
