Getting Started

Before you begin the application process, it is important to determine your applicant type.

Your applicant type determines:

  • The admission steps and requirements you need to follow
  • The documents needed for your academic review
  • Other important aspects of the admission process

To determine your applicant type, please use the Applicant Type Tool before proceeding.

Determine Your Applicant Type (Applicant Type Tool)

Applicant Types

Please be aware that when the profile creation and academic review requests open, three specific “applicant types” will override all the other standard applicant types during the profile creation process:

Select this if you are an active candidate transitioning from CPA PEP to the CPA Professional Program

Select this if you are currently enrolled in another region and are transferring to CPAWSB from outside the Western Region.

Select this if you have had a transcript assessment completed for CPA PEP in the past and it has not expired

If any of the applicant types listed below apply to you, select the appropriate applicant type and enter your current CPA number when creating your CPA Professional Program profile.

After you create your profile and submit your academic review request, your applicant type will be updated to reflect your actual applicant type based on the post-secondary education history you provide when you create your profile.

General Admission Steps for the CPA Professional Program

For entry into the CPA Professional Program, the ability to create a profile and request an academic review (formerly known as the transcript assessment) will not be available until late Fall/early Winter.

When available, you will need to:

  1. Create a CPAWSB online profile and request an academic review.
  2. Have official transcripts and/or documents submitted to CPAWSB for the academic review.
  3. After your academic review is complete, based on the following academic results, take your next steps:
    • Academically Eligible or Academically Eligible with Conditions
      • Submit an admission application for the CPA Professional Program
    • Not Academically Eligible
      • Review all your options for completing any outstanding admission requirements to become Academically Eligible or Academically Eligible with Conditions

Academic Review

Applicants must have an Academic Review completed to determine if they meet the academic admission requirements before an admission application may be submitted to the CPA Professional Program.

The Academic Review will also identify any unmet requirements and outline your options to complete these requirements. Any advanced standing in the program will also be identified.

The process for requesting an Academic Review will be available in late fall.
