Choosing to Complete CPA PEP

You are choosing to complete CPA PEP before it ends on December 31, 2028, and are looking for support.

What this means for you

You choose to remain in the current program and plan on completing all remaining requirements under current program rules (subject to availability of remaining offerings), including:

  • CPA PEP education and examinations
  • The CFE (if applicable)
  • Practical Experience Requirements (PER)

If you do not stay on track to complete each module and exam by its last offering or change your mind, you can learn more about transitioning.

Plan ahead: Final CPA PEP offerings

  • January 2027: Final offering of CPA PEP Core 1 module starts
    There is no May 2027 CFE
  • June 2027: Last offering of the CPA PEP Core 1 exam
  • July 2027: Last offering of CPA PEP Core 2 module starts
  • September 2027: 
    • Last offering of the CPA PEP Core 2 exam
    • Second-last offering of the CFE (only offering in 2027)
  • January 2028: Last offering of CPA PEP elective modules starts
  • March 2028: Last offering of CPA PEP elective exams
  • May 2028: Last offering of the CPA PEP Capstone 1 module starts
    There is no May 2028 CFE
  • July 2028: 
    • Last CPA PEP Capstone 1 presentations
    • Last offering of CPA PEP Capstone 2 module starts
  • September 2028: 
    • Final offering of the CFE (only offering of the CFE in 2028)
  • December 2028: End of CPA PEP program, learners should have submitted their membership applications to the province by this time. 

Planning tip: There is a path to the CFE, but there will be limited opportunities to repeat modules/exams, or to take extended breaks, and still complete within the available offerings.

Practical Experience (PER)

To complete the CPA Certification Program before it ends, you must complete the work experience as well. We strongly encourage you to:

  • Connect with your provincial/territorial CPA body to confirm what is outstanding, and
  • Work with your employer and practical experience to support remaining on track.

Please keep in mind that you may need to revise your reports, so practical experience reporting can take longer than expected. We strongly encourage you to get started on this right away.
