Core 1 and Core 2 Level Scheduling

The Core 1 and Core 2 modules can be taken separately in different sessions or together simultaneously on a traditional (eight-week) schedule.

Please note: Summer 2026 session is the last extended offering for Core 1, and Winter 2027 session is the last extended offering for Core 2.

The traditional offering is available four times a year:

  • Winter (Late-January to Late-March)
  • Spring (Early-May to Late-June/Early-July)
  • Summer (Late-July to Late-September)
  • Fall (Mid-October to Mid-December)

Please visit the following CPAWSB PEP Schedule webpage to view the current list of offerings for Core 1 and Core 2. You’ll also find details on upcoming module registration periods, module dates, module workshop dates, module exam dates, exam results release dates and exam remark deadlines.

  • Winter 2027 Core 1 is the last full session of the Core 1 module.
  • The Spring 2027 Core 1 exam is an exam-rewrite-only option.
  • Summer 2027 Core 2 is the last full session of the Core 2 module.

Module Pathways

The following illustration highlights when the core modules are available for CPAWSB candidates to register throughout the year (traditional/fast-track/extended).

Core1and2Pathways-(003)

Most candidates follow the traditional pathway and focus on one module per session. Candidates can skip sessions and take breaks if their individual circumstances require it.

As Core 1 and Core 2 modules are classified as "co-requisites", they can be taken together on a fast-track schedule. If a candidate withdraws or is withdrawn from Core 1, they will also be removed from Core 2, as the fast-track pathway requires simultaneous completion of both modules.

Winter 2027 is the final session in which candidates can take Core 1 and Core 2 together.

Implications for Transition to the New CPA Professional Program

Candidates who are unable to successfully complete a module by its final offering under the current CPA Professional Education Program (CPA PEP) may be required to transition to the new CPA Professional Program, provided they meet the applicable transition eligibility requirements. Candidates who are not eligible to transition will need to apply as new applicants to the new program.

Final opportunity to complete:

  • Core 1: Spring 2027 Examination
  • Core 2: Summer 2027 Examination

For information about transition eligibility and how completed modules will be recognized in the new program, refer to the Transition Path.
