CPA Accredited Program Applicants

CPA Accredited Programs are offered at select post-secondary institutions across Canada and deliver all or part of the CPA Professional Education Program (CPA PEP) through accredited graduate diploma or master's programs.

If you are currently enrolled in, or have completed, a CPA Accredited Program:

  • You do not need a CPAWSB transcript assessment.
  • You must submit the required supporting documents to CPAWSB.
  • You must apply for admission to CPA PEP under the CPA Accredited Program registration category.
  • You must be a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident, or legally authorized to study and work in Canada.
  • Have strong English language proficiency.

Temporary residents must hold a valid study permit.

The provincial CPA body will provide CPAWSB with confirmation of your program completion and CPA PEP placement.

Although a transcript assessment is not required, CPAWSB must still verify your academic credentials and accredited program status.

Required Documents

  • Official Undergraduate Degree Transcript

You must submit an official undergraduate degree transcript that includes your degree conferral date.

The transcript must be sent directly from the issuing institution.

Accepted submission methods include:

  • Official electronic transcripts
  • MyCreds
  • Official paper transcripts sent directly from the institution

Documents not issued in English must include a certified translation.

Confirmation of Accredited Program Enrollment or Completion

  • For accredited programs within Western Canada:
    • CPAWSB can accept verification directly from the university.
  • For accredited programs outside Western Canada:
    • The provincial CPA body where the program is offered must provide confirmation of your program completion and CPA PEP placement.

Confirmation of enrollment letters issued directly to students are not accepted for entrance through the CPA Accredited Program pathway.

Once all documents have been submitted, proceed with submitting a CPA PEP admission application. The registration category on your CPA PEP application is CPA Accredited Program.

Application processing time is five business days. For the application process, see Apply to CPA PEP.

Planning to Claim Practical Experience Before Your Program Starts?

If you wish to enroll in CPA PEP before starting your accredited program in order to begin reporting practical experience, you may need to apply under a different registration category and complete a transcript assessment.

Your profile can be updated once your accredited program begins.

Review the CPA PEP Admission Application page for detailed instructions.

Advanced placement in CPA PEP is granted when both of the following are completed:

  1. CPAWSB has received the official undergraduate degree transcript with your conferral date.
  2. Submit the requested documents that apply to you.
    • For Master’s degree applicants within the Western region, the university verifies CFE registration eligibility; no action is needed from you.
      Or,
    • For out-of-region accredited program grads, you must contact the provincial CPA body where your program was completed and request a confirmation letter. Ensure the correct advanced standing is granted, as CPAWSB uses this letter to verify your program completion and determine your appropriate advanced standing in CPA PEP.
      And,
    • For Graduate Diploma applicants, send your official accredited transcript with the conferral date to [email protected], as soon as available after convocation.

You will be notified by email once advanced placement has been granted.

Note: After graduation, all CPA accredited program graduates must send their official accredited program transcripts to CPAWSB directly as soon as they're available.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. CPAWSB must receive your official undergraduate degree transcript and any other required program confirmation documents. This will help us determine if you are eligible for advanced standing.

Select CPA Accredited Program when completing your CPA PEP admission application.

Contact the CPA provincial body where the program was completed and advise them that you plan to enroll with CPAWSB. They will work with CPAWSB to confirm your program completion and CPA PEP placement.

Advanced standing is granted after CPAWSB receives and verifies all required academic and program documentation.

Although you are not required to have a CPAWSB transcript assessment completed, you still need to have an official undergraduate degree transcript that includes the conferral date submitted to CPAWSB in a sealed (unopened) envelope directly from the issuing institution.

Furthermore, as soon as it is available after convocation, all CPA accredited program grads, except for University of Saskatchewan MPAcc grads, must also have an official transcript for the accredited program submitted directly to CPAWSB from the post-secondary institution.
