One of the components of this Indigenous offerings is to provide learners the opportunity to engage with Indigenous CPAs. Sharing your journey to becoming a CPA will be invaluable. Indigenous learners face many barriers in pursuing post-secondary and professional education. 

As inspiration, guest speakers share experiences on some or all of the following topics in the presentation:

• Spiritual views that may have helped you overcome challenges
• How you see the profession helping your Indigenous community or organization 
• Roles in and out of the community
• Barriers you faced and how you overcame those barriers 
• How to access scholarships
• Addressing other challenges and impediments during your academic, personal, and professional life
• Sharing your positive experiences as an accounting professional
• Compensation is $350 per one-hour speaking engagement

• Provide personalized non-academic guidance to learners
• Weekly one-on-one sessions:
  • Review learning plan and progress
  • Provide accountability to their study plan and assist with making adjustments
  • Provide emotional support and encouragement
  • Share academic and professional experiences
• Compensation is hourly ($75/hour, roughly a half-hour per week, per learner)
• Opportunities in:
  • Introductory Financial Accounting (IFA) and Introductory Management Accounting (IMA) 
  • Core 1 and Core 2 Modules
