CPA PEP Update for the 2024/25 Academic Year

The list below contains important updates for the upcoming 2024/2025 calendar year. Please read carefully and note any important action items and/or deadlines. 


2024/25 Adminstrative Fees

The CPAWSB PEP Fees for the 2024/25 academic year have been updated. Please refer to the fee schedule on our website to view the updated fees. 
  

Mental Wellness 

Mental health support for learners can be found through the member assistance programs offered by CPA BC, CPA AB, CPA SK, and CPA MB. For more information, visit our website
 

Harmonized Education Policies (HEP)  

The national HEP is updated annually and outlines the policies that govern CPA PEP, including program admission requirements, exam eligibility, and more. 
 

Expectations for Academic Integrity and Learner Conduct  

Recognizing and adhering to CPAWSB Behavioural Conduct is crucial for CPA PEP candidates. Your dedication to upholding these standards aligns with our core principles and commitment to the public.
 

Practical Experience  

Practical Experience is administered by the provincial CPA bodies. Please ensure you are staying up to date on the general requirements. 
 

Schedule  

The CPA PEP schedules reflect the registration, module, workshop, and exam schedules for modules that will be offered in 2024/25. Information regarding the 2024 Capstone 1 and Capstone 2 cases, and the CFE Day 1 cases, are available here
 

Annual Re-enrollment  

All candidates are required to re-enroll annually with the School and pay dues to remain in good standing with your provincial regulatory body and CPAWSB. Candidates who do not complete the annual re-enrollment process, which includes paying annual dues, by May 31st, will be suspended from the CPA certification program. Information about annual re-enrollment, including how to pay annual dues, applying for a program leave, and the consequences of failing to complete annual re-enrollment or pay dues on time, is available here.  
 
Annual re-enrollment for the 2024/25 academic year opens Monday, December 18, 2023. You can pay dues immediately or defer payment until Friday, May 31, 2024. For information on how to find/print your invoice in My CPA portal, please review the blog available here.  
 
Annual re-enrollment must be complete before registering for any modules or exams (including the CFE) in the 2024/25 academic year.  
 

Study Permit Requirement and Residency Status Change  

To maintain status as an active learner, you must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident or hold a valid study permit while registered with CPAWSB. If you hold a study permit, you must submit a study permit renewal application to the Canadian government.  
 
To request documentation to support your study permit application, please submit a request for a status letter on My CPA portal, identifying the request is for a study permit. 
 
If your residency status has changed and you are now a permanent resident or a Canadian citizen, please provide your documentation to cpaapplication@cpawsb.ca, and we will update your account. 
 

Keeping Employment and Contact Information Current 

When completing annual re-enrollment, ensure that your first and last name listed in My CPA Portal matches your legal name. A legal name is essential to confirm your membership, allow you to write the CFE, and attend examinations. Also, ensure your home address, phone number(s), and email address(es) are current so that CPAWSB can communicate key program updates to you.  
 
If you recently moved or are planning to move to another province or territory, contact cpaapplication@cpawsb.ca for assistance in updating your governance or residency status. 
If your employment situation changes, you must: 
 
  • Update your employment information in My CPA Portal within two weeks. When updating employment information, remember to review the settings about sharing registration and module/examination information with employers.  
  • Update your profile in the Practical Experience Reporting Tool (PERT) and submit experience reports. For further information, refer to the PERT access guide or contact your provincial bodies directly.
