Next Steps for Successful Candidates
Practical Experience
In addition to successfully completing the CPA Professional Education Program (PEP) modules and the Common Final Examination (CFE), candidates need to complete a term of relevant practical experience requirements (PER), including development of required competencies, to be eligible for membership with a provincial CPA body.
CPA practical experience is administered by the provincial CPA bodies. For assistance, please contact your provincial CPA body directly:
- British Columbia and Yukon: practicalexperience@bccpa.ca
- Alberta: practicalexperience@cpaalberta.ca
- Saskatchewan: practicalexperience@cpask.ca
- Manitoba: practicalexperience@cpamb.ca
- Northwest Territories and Nunavut: practicalexperience@cpaalberta.ca
Membership Application
Candidates who have successfully completed all three days of the CFE and their PER should initiate a membership application with their governing provincial CPA body. Each province will have the relevant forms and information regarding application for membership and convocation on their provincial website.
Re-mark Requests
Typically, successful CFE candidates cannot request a re-mark of their results. However, candidates who were successful on the CFE with depth in Assurance (role) but who did not pass depth in Financial Reporting can request a re-mark of their result for public accounting purposes.
