Are you an Alberta Learner in need of Financial Support?

For many aspiring CPAs, juggling education, work, and personal responsibilities can make the financial side of the journey challenging. If you’re looking for financial support to help you focus on your studies and career goals, the CPA Education Foundation offers several awards designed to recognize your hard work and help ease those financial pressures. 

The CPA Education Foundation rewards students for their academic, leadership and community achievements with over 85 recipients benefiting from awards on an annual basis. Explore funding options designed for individuals supporting dependents, recent permanent residents or new Canadians, mature candidates, designated accountants working in public practice, and students at all stages of their educational careers.

List of Available CPA PEP Scholarships: 

• David Bentley FCPA, FCA and Janet Bentley CPA PEP Excellence Award ($3,500) – Given to one candidate who has secured and begun training as a designated accountant in a public practice setting.  
• Claire Dallaire CPA, CGA, CPA PEP Encouragement Award ($3,000) – Given to one mature candidate currently enrolled in CPA PEP. 
• CPA Insurance Plans West Family First Award ($2,500) – Given to one CPA PEP candidate who is supporting dependents while working in a relevant accounting role. 
• Sahar Saeidi Memorial New Canadian Award ($2,500) – Given to two applicants who became new Canadians or permanent residents in the most recent five years. 

List of Available CFE Scholarships:

• CPA Education Foundation Perseverance Award ($2,000) – Given to CPA PEP Candidates who have persevered and successfully written the 2025 CFE despite unusual or turbulent circumstances.
• Gordon V Rasmussen CA Memorial Award ($1,000) – Given to one CPA student who resides and works north of Red Deer, has demonstrated consistent superior academic achievement, and has contributed to community service.
• Jazzit CPA Candidate Recognition Award ($1,000) – Two (2) awards given annually to one (1) successful writer in southern Alberta and one (1) successful writer in Northern Alberta.
• Michael Lissey CA Memorial Award ($2,000) – Awarded annually to a northern Alberta-based writer who maintains active service in the community while successfully completing the CFE.
