Information for CPA Preparatory Course Students

To enter the CPA Professional Program, you must demonstrate accounting and business knowledge. One way to meet this requirement is by completing coursework through the CPA preparatory courses.

Important: CPA preparatory courses will be offered only until December 2027. After this date, this pathway will no longer be available.

Apply to the CPA Professional Program after completing your courses

After December 2027 (or not completed)

CPA preparatory courses will no longer be available

Review transfer credit options and complete the remaining required coursework through a post-secondary institution

If you complete your CPA preparatory courses by December 2027

You can complete your CPA preparatory courses through 2027 and then apply to the CPA Professional Program.

  • No additional preparatory coursework will be required if all courses are completed by this deadline
  • You will become eligible to apply once your courses are finished

If you are unable to complete your CPA preparatory courses by December 2027

If you do not complete CPA preparatory courses by December 2027:

  • You have the option to complete your remaining accounting and business coursework through post-secondary institutions (PSIs)†
  • This coursework can be used to meet the accounting and business knowledge requirement
  • You may be eligible for exemptions through transfer credit

  • Public post-secondary institutions, or 
  • Institutions recognized by the International Handbook of Universities published by the International Association of Universities, or a similar recognition service
