Interested in Becoming a CPAWSB Tutor? Here’s What You Need to Know

Are you a CPA member, CPAWSB educator, or a recent successful CFE writer with a passion for helping others succeed?
CPAWSB is looking for knowledgeable and dedicated individuals to support aspiring CPAs through tutoring.


Who Can Become a Tutor?

To qualify as a CPAWSB tutor, you should be one of the following:
  • A CPA member
  • A post-secondary educator
  • A recent successful CFE writer
You should also:
  • Be familiar with CPA education programs
  • Have relevant academic or professional experience
  • Be willing to offer paid tutoring services
If you meet these qualifications and are interested in tutoring, you can contact the CPAWSB Learner Support team to be added to the tutor list.

Note: Tutors are not employed or paid by CPAWSB. All tutoring arrangements are made independently between tutors and learners.


How Do Learners Connect with Tutors?

CPAWSB’s Tutor Community helps connect learners with available tutors.

At the start of each module, learners receive access to the tutor list through their CPA PEP module newsfeed. They can also request the list at any time by contacting Learner Support at [email protected].

What Services Can Tutors Provide?

Tutors can support learners in a variety of ways, including:
  • In-depth discussions of technical topics
  • Guidance on case reading and outlining
  • Support with the debrief process
  • Reviewing facilitator feedback
  • Providing additional case marking and feedback
Tutoring can be a valuable supplement to a learner’s overall CPA journey.


When Are Tutoring Services Available?

Learners can access tutoring support at any stage of their learning journey. Common situations include:
  • Preparing for an upcoming PEP module
  • Working through complex technical topics
  • Debriefing submissions
  • Case debriefing
  • Receiving feedback on non-submitted work
